Workers demolish the building at 432 N. Knowles Ave., longtime site of Kellaher’s Bar, on the morning of Thursday, Nov. 14. For more than 110 years, the Kellaher family operated businesses at the property, including a tavern, a liquor store, a boarding house and a sporting goods shop. Ed Kellaher bought the property in 1903, according to great-grandson Mark. Ed passed it down to his son Lyle, who passed it down to his son Lee. The property is now owned by Lee’s children Mark and Kirstin Kellaher. Mark says he and his sister plan to use the property for new development opportunities.
