Kenseth places 3rd at LifeLock 400
Matt Kenseth of Cambridge is one step closer to qualifying for NASCAR's Chase for the Sprint Cup.
He took third in Sunday's LifeLock 400 in Brooklyn, Mich., and he rose one spot to 14th in the season point standings.
Kenseth is now just two places away from the Top 12 who will qualify for a shot at the Sprint Cup title this fall. He now has nine Top 10 finishes in 15 events.
Sunday was Kenseth's third showing in the Top 5.
Paul Menard of Eau Claire took 11th Sunday and he rose two places for the year to 25th.
Travis Kvapil of Janesville finished 16th and he held steady in the point standings at No. 18.
