Kenseth takes 17th Sunday in wild NASCAR Spring Cup race
Matt Kenseth of Cambridge finished 17th in Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup race, the Aaron's 499 at Talladega.
Kenseth survived contact with Jeff Gordon on the seventh lap which caused a massive wreck.
It cost Gordon 55 laps before his crew could finish its repairs.
Kenseth also had the lead with about 15 laps left before he faded.
Paul Menard of Eau Claire finished 13th.
Brad Keselowski won the race, after Carl Edwards spun out on the final lap and drove into a fence.
Eight spectators suffered mostly minor injuries.
Kenseth remains 12th in the Sprint Cup season point standings and Menard remains 32nd. Kurt Busch replaced Gordon at the top.
