Kindergartners celebrate 100 days
More than 100 St. Croix Central kindergartners filled the cafeteria the morning of Feb. 4 to celebrate the 100th day of school.
At the entrance of the 100th Day Carnival was a sign that read "Hurray it's the 100th day." And each kindergartner wore a paper light bulb around their neck that said, "I am 100 days brighter today."
Elementary School Secretary Lori Sather said the school celebrates the day because 100 days of school is a "kindergarten milestone."
Sather said the students had looked forward to the celebration all week, even practicing counting to 100 for the big day.
Knowing how to count to the big one-zero-zero, was utilized in all the celebration activities.
With the help of teachers and parent-volunteers there were more than a dozen stations with fun activities and crafts. Every station incorporated the number 100 in some way.
Activities at the 100th Day Carnival included: face painting and 100 licks of a lollipop, making funky crowns decorated with 100 stamps, 100-count bingo, cake walk games with numbers, fruit loop necklaces, 100-themed collages and exercise activities that included counting to 100.
Hopefully the next 100 days of school is as exciting at the last for the SCC kindergartners.
