Kinney, Trudell pass through Hammond primary
Incumbent Vince Trudell and past president Tom Kinney were victorious in the Village of Hammond presidential primary on Tuesday.
Trudell took 42 of the votes while Kinney garnered 30. Village trustee Eric Arthur earned 13.
The turnout of 85 voters was higher than most primaries, said village clerk Kelly Brett. The number of voters was most likely due to the village president race, she said. Also on the day's ballot was the state superintendent race.
The election will be held on April 7 in the Village Hall.
