Letter: Emergency responders deserve thanks

To the Editor:

Each year approximately 750,000 U.S. men and women use their skills and expertise to care for victims of sudden and serious illness or injury. They do this in a selfless manner that can serve as an example to all of us.

Regions has provided medical direction for many of the services in the east metro area and western Wisconsin for more than 30 years. Every year it is a privilege and an honor to recognize these health care professionals for their commitment to saving the lives of others and to make the community aware of their vital contributions.

On Tuesday, May 19, Regions Hospital Emergency Medical Services (EMS) will hold its 17th annual barbecue and Rig Wash event to thank emergency personnel throughout the Twin Cities and western Wisconsin.

Regions is proud to do this in celebration of National EMS Week and to honor the many men and women who provide lifesaving care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

We are fortunate to have among us the finest EMS providers in the nation. To those providers and to EMS providers everywhere, thank you.
