Lift bridge set to begin normal operations April 24

The Stillwater Lift Bridge schedule will go into effect on Tuesday, April 24. As a result, motorists will need to plan ahead and possibly allow for extra time crossing the St. Croix.

In addition, Minnesota Department of Transportation crews will be testing the lift span the day before the schedule takes effect, on Tuesday, April 23, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., weather permitting.

Rehab of the Stillwater Lift Bridge took place late in 2012. Crews repaired steel connections, replaced and repaired mechanical and electrical components, repaired concrete surfaces, repaired floor beams, painted portions of the bridge at repair locations and replaced guardrail, curb and gutter.
