But his record wasn't enough to overcome Oconto Falls's Riley Delzer as he won his second straight state championship by a 10-2 score.

After a scoreless first period, Malecek scored first in the second with a reversal. But Delzer struck right back with a reversal of his own topped by a three-point nearfall. In the third period Delzer scored and escape, takedown and two-point nearfall.

Malecek, a senior, completes his season with a 47-1 record.
