ELLSWORTH - The final Middle Border Conference girls gof meet of the 2013 season took place at the Ellsworth Country Club Monday afternoon.

Ellsworth shot a combined nine-hole 257 to finish in seventh place. Prescott placed fifth with a score of 218.

New Richmond easily took first shooting a 169 followed by Osceola 189, Somerset 201 and St. Croix Central 209.

The meet medalists was New Richmond's Alex Wheeler. She finished with a score of 37. The Tigers swept the top three places as Megan Chelberg was second with a 41 and Hannah Baker third with a 42.

Prescott's Megan Westerberg placed fourth with a nine-hole score of 45. The Cardinals' other scores were Lauren Hintz 56, Stephanie Fleming a varsity-best 58,  McKenzie Willner 59 and Autumn Schlecht 62.

Ellsworth's scores were Kacie Lansing and Ellie Borth, both shooting 63s; Madelyn Nielsen 65, Sophie Derleth 66 and Megan Taplin 90.

The main conference meet isn't until next Thursday in Osceola. New Richmond lead in the team standings with 80 points followed by Osceola 72, Somerset 61, Prescott 54, St. Croix Central 53, Baldwin-Woodville 37, Ellsworth 34, Amery 25.

Wheeler is well in front in the individual standings with 76 points to Chelberg's 65, Baker's 60, Lindsay Veeendal's 59 points and Tianna Anderson's 49 points. Veenendal golfs for Baldwin-Woodville and Anderson for Osceola. 

Both Ellsworth and Prescott will compete in the Luck/Unity Invitational Wednesday at the Luck Golf Course.
