With much enthusiasm to create waves of change in our community, the St. Croix Valley Advisory Board for Big Brothers Big Sisters kicked off the 2009 Annual Campaign after the July 28 meeting at RESCO in Hudson.

The Big Brothers Big Sisters Annual Mailing being sent by RESCO was due to hit mailboxes around Aug. 12.

Helping children reach their full potential not only affects the child, but also their peers, school and community. The annual campaign raises much needed funds to support the approximately 600 children BBBS serves agency-wide and the approximately 180 children in the St. Croix Valley.

The success of the campaign relies on donors, according to BBBS officials. The Waves of Change Annual Campaign will run through Dec. 31. Board members are focusing their fundraising efforts on increasing individual and corporate memberships through smaller monthly gifts.

The agency helps to create lifelong matches between a child and an adult role model.

If you have any questions about the Waves of Change Annual Campaign, call Michel Tigan, the St. Croix Valley branch director, at 715-381-7289 or e-mail michel.tigan@bbbs.org.
