Messes and Masterpieces moves to new space
Messes and Masterpieces has a new home in New Richmond.
The non-profit, art-based organization was formerly housed in the WeTEC building; however, the uncertainty of the building's future had Christine Melby, Messes and Masterpieces founder, looking for a new space. She found it at 251 S. Knowles Ave.
"This (space) is smaller, but it allows us to have our shop," she said. "We couldn't have that in the old space."
The shop, filled with craft and art items, is available to the community with a donation to the organization.
"We wanted to offer the community the opportunity to get supplies if they needed something for a school project," she said. "Or even for teachers to come in and get stuff for their classrooms."
Along with the shop, an open workshop for children is hosted Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon. For $8 children can use the workshop space and any supply to create a masterpiece.
Christmas gift making programs are slated for Dec. 15 from 10:30 a.m. until noon for elementary students; and Dec. 19 from 3:30 until 5 p.m. for middle school students.
