In the name of progress
Travelers of Hwy. 35N just outside of River Falls experienced a 15-minute road-closure mid-morning Wednesday, May 15, as crews from Xcel Energy strung new electrical cables as part of construction for the new interchange at Radio Road.
Major earth-moving on the project began Tuesday, May 14, with two bulldozers stripping topsoil along the future Paulson Road right-of-way extension.
Meanwhile, other crews were busy relocating phone and gas utilities. Three troopers from the Wisconsin State Patrol assisted with the temporary road closure. Road reopened at 10:29 a.m.
One frustrated northbound motorist, waiting with others in a long line of vehicles, muttered, "Why can't they be doing this kind of thing at two or three in the morning."
