According to Morrie Veilleux, district administrator, the incoming kindergarten classes are continuing to get larger.

Enrollment numbers are determined by counting all students and then subtracting the students who open enroll in other districts. New Richmond is currently still working to identify all those students.

The numbers were recorded on Sept. 18. Total enrollment was 3,155 (including Early Childhood and 4K). That's compared to the 2010 total of 3,098; the district only budgeted for 3,129 students.

Here's how it breaks down:

• Early Childhood: 11, down from 20 last year.

• 4K: 246 students, up from 217 last year

• Grades K-5: 1,382 students, down from 1,388 last year.

• Grades 6-8: 672 students, up from 632 last year.

• Grades 9-12: 844 students, up from 841 last year.

The district's numbers do not include St. Mary's School, which enrolled 107 students for the 2011-12 school year.

Those numbers are broken down as follows:

• Grades K-5: 85

• Grades 6-8: 22
