The Tigers won the tournament by finishing with a score of 343. Osceola, the Tigers' main pursuer all season, took second place with a 349 score. Somerset had its best round of the conference season, placing third with a 363.

It took a major comeback by the Tigers to pull out Monday's win. Osceola led the Tigers by 12 strokes after nine holes. The Tigers played significantly better on the back nine, while Osceola's scores shot up sharply.

New Richmond was led by sophomore Kole Hallmark, who is suddenly the hottest player in the conference. Hallmark tied Osceola's Kyle Cronick for medalist honors by shooting a 78. This moved Hallmark into first place in the overall individual points standings in the conference.

Ben Norman shot an 87, Connor McCann an 88, Joey Turnipseed a 90 and T.J. Leverentz a 94 for the Tigers' varsity scores.

Somerset was led by its two most experienced players, Matt Skoglund and Danny Green, who both finished at 87. Hunter Iverson shot a 93, Zach Bahr a 96 and Dante Germain a 107.

New Richmond also earned a win in a conference match at Amery last Friday. The Tigers shot a 157, edging Osceola by one stroke. Somerset was third with a 165.

Hallmark led the Tigers on Friday with a 38. McCann and Turnipseed each shot a 39, Leverentz a 41 and Norman a 42.

Somerset's golfers also played in the 11th annual Siren Invitational last Wednesday at the Siren National Golf Course. For the third straight year, the Spartans brought home the team championship. They defeated Osceola by five strokes for the title.

Skoglund led the Spartans by shooting a 79 at Siren, which ranked second in the tournament. Bahr shot an 84, Green an 85, Iverson 86 and Germain 93.

The MBC teams return to action this Wednesday with a nine-hole match at Clifton Highlands. They complete the MBC season next Monday with a match at Ellsworth.

The teams then immediately jump into WIAA tournament play. New Richmond will play in the WIAA Division 1 regional meet at Turtleback Golf Course in Rice Lake next Tuesday. Somerset will be part of the field in the Division 2 regional tournment on Tuesday that will be played at Osceola's Krooked Kreek Golf Club.
