Kim’s Cafe has closed, and the Next Door Cafe has re-opened in its place at 206 S. Knowles Ave., in downtown New Richmond.

Donna and Ed Schurmeier ran the eatery as Next Door Cafe from 1975 to 1990, and Donna, who still owns the building, has now partnered with Tim Finne for the reopening.

Finne said the cafe had a soft opening on Friday, Sept. 27, with an all new menu.

“It was pretty decent with no advertising and the place being closed for 10 days,” Finne said.
