NRHS Ice Fest promises cure for winter blues

Email News Alerts

It's that time again for New Richmond High School's annual Ice Fest winter celebration.

Starting Monday, Feb. 11, the Student Council has planned a variety of activities for the week including dress up days, royalty nominations, lunch activities, a pep assembly and finally a dance on Saturday from 8-11 p.m.

The week provides students with fun ways to break up the winter blues and to recognize the winter sports and clubs and their accomplishments.

Some of the dress up days include class color day, surf or snow day, ugly sweater day and by far the most popular, Tiger Pride Day on Friday!

During the pep assembly, students will be entertained by MCs Zach Olson and Erik Birbrauer and past royalty will crown our new Ice Fest kings and queens. No assembly is complete without a tug-o-war, crazy candidate games and a hoppity hop race!

The dance on Saturday is a semiformal and a great turnout is expected. The DJ hails from the Twin Cities and there will be a large screen for music videos and a spectacular light show. Admission is $8 at the door and $7 with a food shelf donation.
