The Manufacturing Advisory Council exists is to provide a mechanism for manufacturing leaders throughout the 7th Congressional District to offer advice and guidance to Duffy and other public officials on issues related to manufacturing.

The council is comprised of members who represent a cross section of manufacturing industry within the district. Members are appointed by Congressman Duffy.

During the meeting, Duffy provided an update on activity in Washington and participated discussion on small business issues, followed by a tour of OEM Fabricators, Baldwin operation.

Duffy said he "appreciated the opportunity to hear from some of our area's top manufacturers about the issues facing that industry today. Workforce development, international trade, government regulations, and health care reform are all impacting their approach to business.

"As the largest industry sector in Wisconsin, accounting for 19 percent of the Wisconsin gross state product, it is important for me to hear directly from manufacturers what issues are important to them and what I can do as their representative in Congress to help them continue to grow and prosper. I look forward to future meetings to build on the great discussion from Tuesday," Duffy stated in a news release issued by OEM.
