PGA's hottest golfer will be in Milwaukee this week not British Open
The British Open begins Thursday, but the hottest golfer on the PGA Tour will play in Milwaukee at the U.S. Bank Championship.
Kenny Perry has won three of his last seven tournaments, including the John Deere Classic last weekend and golf fans and commentators nationally have wondered why he's not across the pond for the year's third major.
Perry said he planned on skipping the British Open before the season started, so he can focus on making the U.S. Ryder Cup team. The event will be played this fall in Perry's home state of Kentucky.
Perry says some of his fellow players are among those raising eyebrows, but after 22 years on the Tour and $26 million in prize-winnings, Perry says he has earned the right to play when and where he wants and he's surprised it's become such a big deal.
Perry said he honors his commitments and he's happy to have committed to Milwaukee for the week.
