Ping pong balls not kind to Milwaukee Bucks during draft lottery

Once again, the Milwaukee Bucks left the NBA Draft Lottery in worse shape than they went in.

The Bucks fell one place in last night's televised drawing for the top three picks.

It means Milwaukee will draft eighth instead of seventh on June 26.

The Chicago Bulls won the lottery, overcoming huge odds as they rose from the ninth spot to get the top pick.

Bucks' General Manager John Hammond says he's disappointed, but it could have been worse.

He said the Bucks could have dropped three spots, just like they did a year ago, when they took Yi Jianlian at No. 6. Hammond also said it was hard to watch a Central Division rival buck the odds.

The Bulls only had a 1.7-percent chance of having the ping-pong balls go the right way.

The Bucks only had a 4-percent chance of winning the top pick.

Miami, which had the best odds at 25-percent, will draft second.

Former Marquette guard Dwayne Wade says the Heat will still get, "a heck of a player." Wade represented the Heat on the lottery stage.
