Prayer support offered in wake of tragedy

About 60 to 70 people attended Sunday nights prayer gathering, held to support the rural New Richmond family that lost their son in a snowplowing accident last week.

On a crisp night, about 60-70 friends, strangers and church members gathered outside the home of Daniel and Rachel Fitzgerald in rural New Richmond to lift the family up in prayer.

A prayer gathering was organized at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, in an effort to support the family following the death of their son, Collin Fitzgerald, the 4-year-old boy who died at his home last week as the result of a snowplowing accident.

Those attending placed roses in a container in memory of Collin Fitzgerald. Monetary donations were collected to support the Fitzgeralds as well.

Those attending held candles during the half-hour gathering. Prayers were offered and "Amazing Grace" and "Jesus Loves Me" were sung by the crowd.

The Fitzgeralds attended the gathering, with Rachel thanking those who stopped by and asking everyone to continue to pray for the family.
