Quilt show scheduled in New Richmond
The Willow River Piecemakers Quilt Guild will present its ninth annual 2012 Quilt Show at Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College in New Richmond this weekend.
"A Classy Affair" will run 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30.
There will be free demonstrations and speakers both days.
On Saturday, author and designer Sandi Irish from The Irish Chain Pattern Company will present a trunk show and offer demonstrations on her favorite techniques.
Jean Carlton of Quilt Appraisals will be on hand also. She will be taking appointments and walk-ins for appraisals. Cost is $50 per quilt and usually takes about a half hour to complete.
On Sunday, author and designer Amanda Jean Nyberg will be talking about quilting with scraps and doing a trunk show of the quilts featured in her new book, "Sunday Morning Quilts."
A number of quilt vendors will be on hand both days. Numerous quilts will be on display throughout WITC and attendees will be encouraged to vote on their favorites.
There will be a silent auction for charity and door prizes awarded. A quilt raffle will also be conducted with the drawing planned for Sunday at 3 p.m.
