Richard (Rick) Winberg, 51
Rick Winberg, age 51, of North Branch, died peacefully at his home on Oct. 4, with his family and friends at his side.
Rick was born on Nov. 16, 1961, in New Richmond, Wis., to JoAnne (Skifstad) Fletch and Roger Winberg and went on to graduate from New Richmond High School. Rick worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Carl Bolander and Sons. In Sept. of 2004, he married Connie (Kes). During his lifetime, Rick greatly enjoyed fishing, hunting, working in his garage, and being outdoors. Most of all, Rick loved to spend time with his family and friends. He enjoyed making those around him feel comfortable, making them laugh, and seeing them happy.
He was preceded in death by his son, Benjamin Winberg; grandparents, Archie Skifstad, Frank and Anna (Halldorf) Winberg.
Rick is survived by his father, Roger (Benet) Winberg; mother, JoAnne Fletch; wife, Connie; daughter, Elisha Winberg; sons, Joseph (Kacie) Winberg, and Jacob Winberg; step-son, Douglas (Kelly) Thompson; grandchildren, Elise, Madison, Joshua, Megan; sister, Patti (Duane) Bethke; brother, Trevor; niece, Danielle; nephews, Matthew, Tyler, and Drake; and grandmother, Helen Larson.
A celebration of Rick's life will be held from 5 p.m.- close on Friday, Oct. 11, at the American Legion in North Branch.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are under the direction of Grandstrand Funeral Home in North Branch.
