Rob Jeter reunites with Bo Ryan on Team USA staff
University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's basketball coach Rob Jeter says he's excited about re-uniting with Badgers' coach Bo Ryan.
USA Basketball named Jeter Monday as an assistant under Ryan for the American team at the World University Games next month in Belgrade.
Jeter played for Ryan at University of Wisconsin-Platteville, and he spent 10 years as an assistant under Ryan at Platteville, Milwaukee and Madison.
Jeter says Ryan stresses the fundamentals and it will help the Americans in the tournament.
University of Miami coach Frank Haith was also named an assistant for Team USA.
The roster will be picked at a training camp June 16-25 in Colorado Springs.
Marquette forward Lazar Hayward is among those competing for a spot.
Jeter has seen all the candidates play, and he says they're very talented.
By the way, Jeter is coming off surgery he had last Thursday, after he tore an Achilles' tendon while playing basketball the day before.
