School board approves hire of new Starr Elementary principal
New Richmond Wisconsin 127 South Knowles Avenue 54017

The New Richmond School District School Board unanimously approved the hire of Daniel McGuire as the new Starr Elementary principal at its May 6 work session.

"Dan by far and away ranked No. 1 in both sets of interviews," said New Richmond District Administrator Jeff Morberg. "He came through a really lengthy and solid process that had a lot of different thoughts, eyes and ears on it. Of all the people Dan interacted with, he really, clearly rose to the top of what I thought was a very good candidate pool."

McGuire, currently principal at Tomahawk Elementary School in Tomahawk, will replace current Starr Principal Andrew Hoeppner who is leaving the New Richmond School District at the end of the school year to teach at an international school in Saudi Arabia. McGuire's administrator contract was approved for the 2014-2016 school years.

"This is a real pleasure to be here and be part of the School District of New Richmond," McGuire said. "I'm looking forward to working here. I hate to rush time, but I wish it was July 1 tomorrow because I am ready to go."
