Snowmobile hit-and-run trial date set
A trial date has been set in a hit-and-run snowmobile case resulting from an incident two years ago.
Scott James Kaufhold, 48, Somerset, faces felony charges of first-degree reckless injury and intoxicated use of a vehicle. A three-day trial was set to begin Oct. 20 in St. Croix County Circuit Court.
The criminal complaint alleged Kaufhold ran down Kathleen L. Fredrickson of New Richmond with his snowmobile on County C about 8 p.m. March 13, 2006. He pleaded innocent to the charges during his arraignment April 24, 2006.
Fredrickson, who was walking along the road with her husband, was thrown about 30 feet and suffered serious injuries in the mishap, the complaint said.
