Imagine standing on a stage while people bid on you. Well, not you, but on services or products you’ve agreed to generously donate to a good cause. It might be a bit nerve wracking.

That’s exactly what some folks have agreed to do to benefit the Holiday Angels program and the Hammond Lions Club in the Lions People Auction Friday, March 21, from 7 to 11 p.m. at JJ’s Sports Bar in Hammond.

Ryan Christianson, Lions Club member and host of the auction, said they generally profit $2,500 to $3,000 each year from the auction.

Raffles, games and live music featuring the band Happy Trigger also highlight the event.

Examples of items or services up for bid include: mowing up to four acres, Viking party for four people (food and drinks), sober cab services, rough sawn cedar mirrors, bus for 30 people to Lucky 13 to play bingo, a Packer mini fridge, a Badger mailbox, skydiving passes from Sky Dive Twin Cities, tilling a garden and many more.

Myer Auction Services is donating its time to the cause. There is a $2 cover charge at the door.

For more information and a complete list of donated items up for bid, visit the Hammond Lions People Auction on Facebook at facebook.com/events/485834661522095.
