Somerset's annual Pea Soup Days festival is set for Friday, June 11, to Sunday, June 13, at the Village Park in Somerset.
As usual, there will be carnival rides throughout the weekend, a water fight on Saturday afternoon, fireworks Saturday night, bands Playback on Friday night and Gel on Saturday and softball tournaments.
The main parade will be Saturday, June 12, at 11 a.m., with line-up starting at 10 a.m. The parade will start at the Somerset School complex and head along Spring Street to the Village Park. The grand marshal has yet to be announced.
The kiddie parade will take place on Sunday.
This year, however, there will be a new addition to the festivities: a community-wide garage sale.
Dr. Casey Goessl, Chamber president and owner of Defined Spine Chiropractic and Wellness, LLC (formerly Bont Chiropractic), said that the Chamber is working with the New Richmond News to have the community-wide garage sale scheduled for Thursday, June 10, through Sunday, June 13.
"We're continually trying to make an effort to bring local businesses together to make Pea Soup Days a true community event," Goessl said.
