Either he was going to be the wrestler Cuba City/Southwestern's Jarod Donar won his final match to cap a perfect high school career and fourth straight state championship or he was going to be the wrestler who prevented it from taking place.

Flandrick gave a great effort but Donar walked off the mat of the 138-pound title match in the Kohl Center a four-time state champ and only the third wrestler in state history to go unbeaten in high school. The other two are River Falls's Kevin Black and Pittsville's Matt Hanutke.

After a scoreless first period Donar scored an escape in the second and in the third, still leading 1-0, notched a takedown late in the match, countering a Flandrick takedown attempt.

Still Flandrick, a junior, was able to wrestle all the way from the prelims to the final and finished the season with a 43-4 record.
