Schutz went on to the finals at the WIAA State Individual Wrestling Tournament while Praschak lost a tough 4-2 match to Two Rivers's Bobby Geiger.

The two had wrestled each other for the Middle Border Conference and sectional titles the past month with Schutz winning ther conference title and Praschak the sectional crown.

Praschak, 37-4 overall, tried to make a late charge at Geiger (46-7) trailing 4-1 in the third period. A stalling penalty and an escape gave Praschak a chnace to get a takedown to tie the match or more but he ran out of time.

Praschak at least ensured a spot on the awards' podium when he won his quarterfinal match with a quick pinfall of West Salem/Bangor's Nick Bushman (31-9) in 1:58.

Praschak will wrestle in the placement matches Saturday afternoon.  His first match will be against Gavin Baade (41-2) of Brodhead/Juda.
