Somerset's Robbie Flom is WIAC football Player of the Week
Somerset native Robbie Flom is one of two UW-River Falls football players who earned Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Player of the Week honors this week.
Flom and teammate Alex Adams led the Falcons to a 26-15 win over UW-Stevens Point on Saturday at Ramer Field in River Falls.
Flom helped turn the game's momentum to the Falcons with a spectacul kick off return. After UW-Stevens Point took a 7-0 lead early in the first quarter, Flom returned the ensuing kickoff 93 yards for a touchdown to tie the game.
The Falcons went on to score the game's next 19 points to secure the win. Flom, also the team's starter at one of the cornerback spots, had four tackles and an interception he returned 15 yards in the contest. He also broke up one pass. This year Flom has returned eight kickoffs for a 29.8 per return average. He has made 32 solo and 37 total tackles. He has forced a fumble, has five pass break ups and one interception.
The Falcons will next play at UW-Platteville on Saturday with kickoff set for 3 p.m., at Pioneer Stadium.
