St. Croix Central dance team earns two second place finishes at conference dance meet
The St. Croix Central High School dance team earned a pair of second place honors at the Dunn-St. Croix Conference Meet held in Hudson on Jan. 4.
The D-SC was one of three conferences to hold their conference competition that day in Hudson. The Western Wisconsin Dance Conference brings together teams from the Middle Border, Big Rivers and Dunn-St. Croix conferences for a day of competition.
Central’s dance team took second place in both the pom and jazz portions of their conference competition.
Central also had two varsity solo acts competing. Olivia Sirek took first place and Megan Edelman took third place in the conference. Central also had a junior varsity team compete in the conference meet but it wasn’t able to place.
“The girls have been working incredibly hard at practices to get ready for competitions. Some of the girls have been working since August on technique and general skills in preparation for the winter season while others have been working extra hard since winter season started in November,” said Central coach Kayla Dimler.
Dimler said she thought the team performed well at the conference meet. She said she expects even better from the team when it competes in this year’s regional competition. This year’s WACPC regional meet will be held on Saturday, Jan. 25, at New Richmond High School.
