St. Croix Central wrestlers to host junior high, junior varsity tournaments this weekend

The St. Croix Central wrestling program will hold its annual junior high and junior varsity wrestling tournaments this weekend.

The 28th SCC junior high tournament will be wrestled on Friday, beginning at 4:30 p.m. Twelve schools are expected to bring 220 wrestlers to the junior high meet, which will feature seeded eight-man brackets.

The 18th annual junior varsity tournament will be held on Saturday. More than 140 wrestlers are expected and each wrestler will get at least four matches as they compete in five-man brackets. Schools bringing wrestlers to the tournament include New Richmond, Ellsworth, Baldw-Woodville, Cadott, Chetek-Weyerhaeuser, Clear Lake, Durand, Glenwood City, Hudson, Osceola, Prescott Spring Valley and Unity. The tournament starts at 10 a.m.

Both tournaments will be wrestled at St. Croix Central High School in Hammond.
