St. Croix County included in flood watch
The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for much of western Wisconsin, including St. Croix County, from 1 p.m. today (Wednesday) through Thursday afternoon.
A wet weather system is slowly moving into the region and is expected to dump lots of rain, and possibly more snow, on the landscape. Officials are concerned that the moisture could lead to local flooding.
Along with St. Croix County, other counties included in the watch are Chippewa, Eau Claire, Dunn, Barron, Rusk, Pepin and Pierce.
The National Weather Service estimates that upwards of two inches of rain could fall over the next two days, along with some accumulating snow.
Residents are urged to stay alert as flooding concerns mount.
