St. Croix County shapes up the trails
New Richmond Wisconsin 127 South Knowles Avenue 54017

Some segments of St. Croix County's 216-mile trail system haven't yet been shaped due to snow being too deep for some machinery to traverse.

But Pat Kinney has been using his machine-towed a power tiller that grinds surface snow and rakes it into a flat surface. At least two segments of trail south of New Richmond and north of Wilson remain closed due to standing corn.

For current trail status anytime, call the St. Croix Snowmobile Association hotline at 715-772-6824.

The association works through the county parks department in the maintenance and grooming of the trail system. The Department of Natural Resources; using snowmobile registration fees and gas tax revenues; provides funds for trail maintenance to the association.
