The clients, who have varying levels of disability, gathered at The Settlement in Somerset for a lunch and numerous fun activities.

The list of activities included karaoke, bean bag toss, bingo, "Deal or No Deal" and more.

According to Clark Schroeder, executive director of St. Croix Industries, clients with disabilities work throughout the county.

About 45 work in the placement program, which places workers in such businesses as Farm & Home and the local veterinary office to complete tasks.

About 90 clients are employed in St. Croix Industries' intensive assembly operation at their facility next to the St. Croix Health Center. The non-profit organization contracts with area companies to do assembly and other piece work for a price.

St. Croix Industries also serves about 15 clients in its Day Services program, providing appropriate activities for people with more severe disabilities.

To celebrate their successes, St. Croix Industries holds two annual gatherings -- the summer picnic and the holiday party.

"They really enjoy it," Schroeder said.
