Stevens Point plays Chippewa Falls at state softball tourney
Stevens Point will play Chippewa Falls tomorrow for the Division One title at the state girls' high school softball tournament.
Defending champion Point beat Watertown 4-1 in last night's semi-finals in Madison.
Stacy Tuskowski tossed a two-hitter to give Stevens Point its seventh finals berth in the last 10 years.
Chippewa Falls won last night's other semi-final, 3-0 over Appleton East. Kendra Bowe gave up just four hits for the winners.
In the Division One quarter-finals earlier in the day, Watertown topped Waunakee 4-1.
Stevens Point eliminated Kenosha Bradford 2-1. Appleton East blanked Menomonee Falls 8-0. And Chippewa Falls edged Greenfield 1-0.
Today, semi-finals will be played in three other divisions.
Division-Four is up first. Belmont will play Oakfield at 9 a.m., and then Thorp will take on undefeated Rosholt.
The Division-Three semis will be played this afternoon.
Lancaster goes against Laconia. And Grantsburg takes on Weyauwega-Fremont. Tonight, it's the Division-Two semi-finals.
Monroe plays Port Washington, and Altoona closes out the evening against Luxemburg-Casco.
Title games in all four divisions will be played tomorrow.
