'Stone Soup' brewed up at Old Gem
The Old Gem Theater's annual January cock-eyed classic folk tale plays continue with performances on Saturday, Jan. 26, at 10:30 a.m. and Sunday, Jan. 28, at 2 p.m.
This year's presentation is "Stone Soup" and promises to charm kids from 3 years old on up.
The greedy villagers of Oofus Town are starving until a crafty stranger arrives and cooks up a magical pot of soup with a little help from the audience. The tantalizing soup feeds them all while teaching the value of cooperation. Slapstick capers and hilarious hijinx make "Stone Soup" fun for all ages.
"Stone Soup" joins the "Three Little Pigs," Three Billy Goats Gruff," "Three Bears" and "Little Red Riding Hood" in the Old Gem's repertoire of zany audience participation originals. Fans of those shows will enjoy also "Stone Soup."
"Stone Soup" features Old Gem Theater veterans: Joseph Scrimshaw, Tim Uren and Tom Monn.
Tickets are $11 for adults, and $9 for children. Weekday matinees for groups are available.
