A New Richmond High School student has been expelled from the school for bringing a dangerous weapon to school.
Police were called to the school on Nov. 1 after the juvenile male allegedly got into an argument with his ex-girlfriend about comments she was making about his new girlfriend. At one point, students allegedly heard the male say he wanted to stab the ex-girlfriend.
After the fight, while talking with Assistant Principal Jeff Swanson, a knife was allegedly discovered in the student's pocket.
According to the police report, the student claimed he had no real intention of stabbing the ex-girlfriend and said he had put the knife in his pocket the night before as a way to protect himself on Halloween.
An expulsion hearing was held on Wednesday, Nov. 14, and the board unanimously agreed to expel the student for one year.
This is the second student to be expelled from New Richmond High School this year.
