Student waits to see if he'll stand trial on Internet sex scam
A New Berlin high school student accused of blackmailing boys for sex in an Internet scam will find out Thursday if he'll be ordered to stand trial.
Anthony Stancl, 18, is charged with a dozen felonies in Waukesha County.
Authorities said he posed as a girl on the Facebook networking site, and tricked 31 classmates into sending him naked pictures of themselves. He then allegedly used the photos to blackmail some of the boys for sex.
Authorities said they investigated the matter after Stancl was caught making a bomb threat. He's charged with making that threat, along with counts that include child enticement, various degrees of sexual assault, and possessing child pornography.
Stancl's lawyer has said his client would plead innocent to his charges.
