Three arrested following North Hudson drug raid
Three were arrested on alleged drug-related charges Tuesday in North Hudson. Investigators from the St. Croix County Sheriff's Department and members of the North Hudson Police Department executed search warrants on two addresses in North Hudson just before 7 a.m. The warrants were executed simultaneously on the residence at 535 6th St. No. Unit D and 709 6th St. No.
North Hudson Police Chief Mark Richert said the warrants were executed simultaneously to prevent the destruction of evidence and for officer safety.
Three adult males, two from 709 6th St. No. and one from 535 6th St. No. Unit D, were arrested as a result of the investigation and were charged Thursday with multiple felonies in St. Croix County Circuit Court. The three are: Vincent D. Nelson, Benjamin E. Vandesande and Joshua E. Barber. In addition to the drug related charges, Nelson was also charged with possession of a firearm.
The investigation leading up to the search warrant execution was a cooperative effort between the North Hudson Police Department and the St. Croix County Sheriff's Department. Both agencies participate in the St. Croix Valley Drug Task Force.
"The North Hudson Police Department would like to thank the St. Croix County Sheriff's Department, specifically the Investigation Unit and Emergency Response Unit (ERU), and the St. Croix County Emergency Communication Center Staff for their professionalism and assistance with this incident," said Richert.
