Three Somerset players, Central's Nyhagen chosen for WFCA All-Star Game

The area will be well represented at the 2013 Wisconsin Football Coaches Association All-Star Games in July.

Three Somerset players and three Spartan coaches have been selected to the North Large team. The players chosen for the game are Reggie Larson, Tyler Ledbeter and Luke Praschak. Somerset head football coach Bruce Larson has been selected to direct the North Large team for the second time in his career. He will be joined on the coaching staff by Spartan assistant coaches Bob Seibel and Joe Hutter.

St. Croix Central will also be represented at all-star weekend in Oshkosh on July 20. Central senior receiver Cody Nyhagen has been selected to the North Small School team.

The All-Star games will be played at Titan Stadium on the UW-Oshkosh campus on July 20. The small school game will kick off at noon, with the large school game having a 5 p.m. kickoff time.

The All-Star games are also a fundraiser for the WFCA charitable organization, Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. All the players and coaches involved in this event need to raise money in order to participate. Anyone interested in helping fund any of the Somerset players and coaches can contact Coach Larson at Somerset High School at 715-247-3355. Anyone looking to help support Nyhagen can contact St. Croix Central Coach Tony DiSalvo at St. Croix Central Middle School at 715-796-2257. Checks can be made payable to the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association. All donations are needed by May 3 to be included in the All-Star Game program.

Ledbeter is slated to be one of the quarterbacks for the North Large School team. Larson is scheduled to play offensive line and Praschak will likely play at as a linebacker. Nyhagen is scheduled to play wide receiver for the North Small School squad.
