Tiger Sharks swim at Eau Claire meet

The New Richmond Area Tiger Sharks swim team competed in the Fairfax Invitational in Eau Claire on June 28-29. Thirty-two area team members competed in the swim meet.

In the girls 8-and-under age group, Erika Emerson competed in the 50-meter freestyle and the 50-meter backstroke. Tori Gareis participated in the 100-meter freestyle and 50-meter freestyle. Elise Kolbeck participated in six events including the 100-meter backstroke and the 100-meter freestyle. Lydia Simpson placed tenth in the 100-meter butterfly.

In the girls 9-10 group, Lydia Anez participated in the 50-meter backstroke and the 100-meter freestyle. Mikayla Johnson participated in the 50-meter freestyle. Brianna Kupke participated in the 100 meter backstroke and the 50-meter breaststroke. Sarah Sylte participated and placed in all six of her events, including a personal best in the 200-meter freestyle dropping 33.91 seconds from her previous best.

In the girls 11-12 group, Emma Ahmedic participated in seven events, with a personal best in the 50-meter butterfly, dropping 18.26 seconds from her previous best. Zoe Baker-Bolden participated in six events, with a personal best in the 100-meter freestyle, dropping 8.61 seconds from her previous best. Gabrielle Blair had a personal best in the 50-meter breaststroke dropping 1.46 seconds from her previous best. Elianna Emerson participated in six events, with a personal best in the 50-meter breaststroke, dropping 5.20 seconds from her previous best. Shannon Moe participated in seven events, with a new personal best in the 100-meter breaststroke, dropping 5.85 seconds from her previous best. Sammie Roe participated in six events with a personal best in the 100-meter freestyle dropping 9.02 seconds from her previous best. Savanna Van Dyk participated in six events with personal bests in all events.

For the female senior age group, Renee Gunderson participated in six events, with a strong 12th place finish in the 200-meter breaststroke.

For the boys 8-and-under group, Andrew Simpson placed 12th in the 100-meter backstroke.

For the boys 9-10 age group, Windham Anez participated in the 50 meter backstroke and the 100-meter freestyle. Joey Desio placed 14th in the 100-meter backstroke. Max Emerson participated in five events wth a personal best in the 100-meter freestyle dropping 30.33 seconds from his previous best. Tanner Olson placed ninth in the 50-meter butterfly. Andres Pena placed 13th in the 100-meter backstroke. Cole Riemer participated in six events, placing ninth place in the 50-meter freestyle. Nich Simpson placed tenth in the 100-meter backstroke. Noah Simpson was the champion in the 50-backstroke in 43.84 seconds. He took second in the 50-meter freestyle and the 100-meter breaststroke.

For the boys 11-12 age group, Riley Edling placed 13th in the 200-meter freestyle. Dakota Hoialmen participated in six events, placing 11th in the 100-meter breaststroke. Zachary Simpson placed sixth in the 50-meter backstroke and eighth in the 100-meter freestyle. Josh Sylte placed ninth in the 100-meter breaststroke.

For the boys 13-14 age group, Connor Edling placed 14th in the 100-meter breaststroke. Jacob Simpson placed fourth in the 100-meter butterfly, dropping an amazing 25.22 seconds from his previous best.

For the male senior age group, Thomas Tenner participated in six events including a 15th place finish in the 100-meter butterfly.
