Trane to close La Crosse distribution center
Trane Incorporated has told state officials it will close its parts distribution center in La Crosse, putting 128 people out of work.
The maker of air conditioners says it will consolidate its distribution activities in Memphis.
The closing announcement comes just over a month after Ingersoll-Rand of New Jersey said it would buy Trane for just more than $10 billion.
The deal was expected to close in the spring. Trane says it will start cutting jobs at the La Crosse parts facility on March 28.
State officials say they'll set up meetings with the affected employees and let them know what services they can use to help find new work.
