Trigger Happy returns to Heritage Hillside Series
Put on your dancing shoes and come early to next week's Heritage Hillside Series at the New Richmond Heritage Center. It starts at 6 p.m. July 30 with line dance lessons by The New Richmond Boot Scooters, followed by the return of Trigger Happy at 6:30.
This local group has been playing together for over 25 years. They play traditional and contemporary country music, along with some favorite pop oldies, dance songs and polkas using a variety of instruments.
In those many years together, they have played for local celebrations, county fairs and local theater shows. Members of Trigger Happy have backed national recording artists such as Stonewall Jackson, Hank Thompson, John Wesley Ryles, Dave Dudley, Marvin Rainwater and performed with other Nashville artists. They fronted shows for artists such as Faron Young, Waylon Jennings, Tom T. Hall, Dotty West and David Houston.
They received the Country Band of the Year award from the Minnesota Ballroom Operators Association in 1990. Working with Dave Dudley in his last three years of performing certainly was one of the highlights for Trigger Happy's career.
Trigger Happy members have written and recorded their own music in local studios as well as in Nashville, Tenn. This group of individuals continues to share their music in their local churches on a regular basis, as they have done for many years.
Members are Mike Murtha of Hammond, John Murtha of Baldwin, Ed Schmidt of Balsam Lake and Karl Ausland, of Hammond.
