The New Richmond boys hockey and girls basketball teams posted their first wins of the 2013-14 season on Tuesday night.

New Richmond's boys hockey team notched a 6-2 home ice win over Hayward. Nick Lubow scored with 2:36 left in the second period to break a 2-2 tie.


The Tiger girls basketball team went to Osceola and posted a convincing 61-39 win over the Chieftains. Sydney Kannel scored 33 and Mattie Kidder contributed 14 points.

The Tiger boys basketball team wasn't so fortunate. They went to Rice Lake and suffered a 58-29 loss to the Warriors.

Somerset's boys hockey team renewed its rivalry with Hudson on the Raiders' rink on Tuesday. Neither team came away satisfied, with the game ending in a 1-1 tie.

St. Croix Central's boys basketball team ran up against one of the top teams in the Dunn-St. Croix Conference at Elk Mound on Tuesday. The Mounders pasted the Panthers 50-13.
