The New Richmond U12 softball team is going to nationals, after taking third place in its state tournament over the weekend.

The NAFA Nationals will be held in Eagan, Minn. this Thursday through Sunday. New Richmond is one of 87 teams in the tournament.

The New Richmond team is coming off a third place performance in its state tournament at Elk River, Minn. over the weekend.

New Richmond opened the tournament on a roll, topping St. Louis Park 15-0 in the first round and Lakeville 12-4 in the second round. New Richmond suffered its first setback in its third game, losing to Hermantown 8-3. New Richmond bounced back impressively, beating Orono 15-6 and North St. Paul 10-2. New Richmond's run in the tournament ended when it was defeated by Hermantown again, this time by a 15-10 score.
