According to the State Patrol, the Fritz vehicle was traveling west on Hwy. 29 in Dunn County near Elk Mound and exited onto the 52 interchange that merges to I-94 west. The driver failed to negotiate a curve and lost control of the vehicle, which rolled across the westbound off-ramp and came to rest.

Gary Fritz was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Poor visibility and driving too fast for conditions may have contributed to the crash. The crash remains under investigation by the State Patrol.

Assisting agencies included Dunn County Sheriff’s Department, Elk Mound Fire Department, Colfax Ambulance and Dunn County medical examiner.
