UW Regents consider 5.5 percent hike in tuition, room and board, dorm fees
The University of Wisconsin Board of Regents will consider a new budget today that includes a 5.5 percent tuition increase and a 5.3 percent jump in fees for dorm residents.
The tuition hikes would be less than $300 at most of the 13 four-year campuses. Average room-and-board rates would rise by $284, and mandatory fees would jump an average of $51.
All those figures vary by campus and Madison senior Chynna Haas says the fee hikes will be especially hard to handle.
