Video project to promote New Richmond
What do you like about New Richmond? City officials want to know.
The community will launch its first ever Facebook page on Friday and one of the first questions asked will be "What do you like about New Richmond?"
According to Mike Darrow, city administrator and utilities manager, the information will be used to begin a video project featuring the assets of the community.
Darrow said the video is being produced by Dandylion Pictures, run by New Richmond natives Josh and Signe Shores.
"Portions of the video will include amazing aspects of our city," he said. "Our parks, history, downtown, nightlife, housing, health care and general quality of life."
He said the comments and suggestions from Facebook and Twitter users will help guide and direct the content of the video project.
"We're excited about this," he said. "We have many things to showcase."
The goal is to have the video ready for screening by Fun Fest week in July. He said plans call for a launch party at some point.
"It might not be a red carpet event," he said with a laugh. "We're on a budget. It might be a shag carpet event."
The video will eventually be posted on the community's website, and be sent out to people and businesses looking to move to New Richmond, Darrow said.
