Virginia "Dolly" Lee, 79
Virginia Olive Claire "Dolly" Lee of Amery died at the age of 79 at the Amery Regional Medical Center on Friday, May 9, 2008.
She was born on March 13, 1929 in Amery, Wis., the daughter of Walter and Cora (Emerson) Lee. She grew up on the home farm in Wagon Landing. She attended grade school at Wagon Landing and graduated from Amery High School in 1947. After graduating, Dolly moved to the Twin Cities to work. She resided in the Twin Cities area for the next 40 years until her retirement. She moved to New Richmond after retiring and then three years later to Amery, where she has lived for the past 12 years. Dolly loved to play cards and was very active with her church. She also volunteered her time at Golden Age Manor Nursing Home.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Cora and Walter Lee; brother Walter (Bud) Lee; and sister Ardyce Burke.
She is survived by her sister Mercedes (Toots) Davis of New Richmond; brother Robert E. Lee of Amery; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Private family services were held at the Williamson-White Funeral Home on Saturday, May 17, 2008 with Pastor Jerry Schultz officiating. Interment was at the East Immanuel Cemetery.
The Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery assisted the family with arrangements.
